![]() "Does this really matter? You like Shoebill, you want a Shoebill Nendoroid, why bother worrying about another one released at the same time as her? And is that a dart in your hand? Why are you throwing it at me? Why is it getting dark? Hey, why am I in a bag? Is that the sound of water I hear?" "Wait, wait, wait ZoidsFanatic 2.0" I hear you saying off screen. from a release standpoint what do you do? They're on the same team so it's likely they know each other and in Kemono Friends Pavilion Shoebill does at least mention she's trying to make more friends but her stare scares them off, which would imply she has had meaningful interactions with the three at some point off screen. But this is the problem, as Shoebill didn't really have any interaction with those three. Which is to not say there is anything wrong with the three, I like them, but again I'm biased. In terms of action figure collecting, this is as side-character as you can get. This then leaves Shoebill with Giant Armadillo, Crested Porcupine, and White Rhinoceros. Then we have Aurochs (and her fantastic abs) and Arabian Oryx who are seen talking to each other and are noted friends. Japanese Black Bear and Panther Chameleon would also get the same treatment, as they shared some screen time together. So Lion and Moose would be released around the same time as they fought one another and became friends. Let's just assume they're all getting Nendoroids and the release pattern is the same. The characters are Lion, Moose, Shoebill, Arabian Oryx, Aurochs, Japanese Black Bear, Giant Armadillo, White Rhinoceros, Panther Chameleon and Crested Porcupine. Anyhow, to give a better understanding of what I'm talking about let's look at who showed up in episode 6 of the anime. Unless you ship her with Tibetan Sand Fox like I do, but that's a whole 'nother story. This leaves Shoebill in a awkward situation as she doesn't really have a partner. #Shoebill anime cute seriesThey're released in "pairs", typically based on two friends that showed up in the same episode and played a part (like Alpaca and Toki) or that were major characters in the series proper ( Serval, Kaban, Raccoon, and Fennec). The current Kemono Friends Nendoroids releases follow a pattern. Yay for biases! But, there is a tiny little problem with a possible future Shoebill release and I'm not talking about Kadokawa fucking the series sideways and ruining it for everyone either. Maybe it's because I'm biased and bought every single one of them. I mean, let's be quite honest, any character from Kemono Friends would make a lovely little Nendoroid. Specifically a Nendoroid, which I consider a type of action figure. Can you guess what it is? If you said action figure, you are right. This is all fine and well mind you but I feel there is something lacking. She only has two official figures, both trading figures. Now in the figure department, Shoebill is lacking. But yeah, for such a popular character she didn't do all that much. Not really amazing, is it? So why is she so popular? Her design of course! Which, I do admit, is striking even if it's not as colorful as her companions. So, the character Shoebill (or as this website calls her "Hashibirokou") is a minor character in the Kemono Friends anime showing up in episode 6 of the anime as part of Moose's "army" and at the end of the episode and beginning of episode 7 tells Serval and Kaban something very important. So on that lovely note let's talk about about everyone's absolute favorite Friend Shoebill. Do you like Kemono Friends? I sure do! I mean who doesn't like Kemono Friends? Raise your hand and your hand is coming off, by the way. Unfortunately, the younger chick only seems to be preferred by the mother if the older one doesn't survive.Say kids. The younger chick was forced out into the heat, and died slowly.”įor this reason, the mothers often end up raising only one chick. When the parent arrived it favoured the larger chick, shading it from the sun with its wings and giving it water from its bill. “It would drive its sibling over to the side of the nest. Instead of welcoming the second chick, it's common for the first-born to start a violent rivalry. “On several occasions the older chick attacked its younger sibling, drawing blood,” said BBC producer Alex Lanchester. So, the first-born chicks are much bigger than the younger siblings. They found that many of the nests had two chicks, which were often born about five days apart from each other. Yet, one group of scientists were lucky enough to observe these young birds, and it wasn't as heartwarming as they imagined. Shoebill birds are shy creatures, so it's rare to see the behaviors of chicks in the nest. ![]()
